  1. Two factor authentication, is it possible with Penguinet. I am using google authenticator on my server and it works fine with Putty. I have mine set to as for
    1) username
    2) password
    3) 2FA code

  2. Even version 2.70 of Penguinet won't connect properly to Dropbear as built for OpenWRT routers. No errors, says 'Connected', but no text output, typing does nothing.

That accounts for about half my usage, and using alternative SSH clients gets old really quickly...

  3. Penguinet does not look good in Windows DPI scaling. Everything looks blurry.

Microsoft's recommendation is to turn off the DPI scaling ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2900023 ) but in this case, the text is too tiny to be read because of the huge resolution (4k display).

4k displays becoming more and more common and ppls turn on DPI scaling, this is a must have feature.

  4. Using penguinet to ssh to a nexus 3048 running version 6.0.2.

penguinet succesfully connects to the switch, up to the point of actually showing me the CLI, then reports "the host does not appear to be running an SSH service on the requested port" and force-closes the session again.
Changing the switch or its config is impossible (its in a corporate data centre)

ssh to the same switch works fine with Putty

seems like some bug in penguinet intereacting with the particular behaviour of ssh on this switch hardware/firmware ? using version 2.70 of penguinet.

Penguinet supports UTF-8 within a terminal session, and if its required, a font of your choice.

We don’t actually have a server here configured for hebrew, so why not install the Penguinet trial, try it on an appropriate server, and report back here? :-)

  10. Hello,

Since upgrading from 2.54 to 2.61 and 2.62 I have been unable to connect using port forwarding from a jump host. I have had to use putty for either the connection to the jump then use penguinet for the terminal to the remote server, or reverse penguinet for the connection to jump then putty for terminal to remote server. Or I use putty for both.

I have rolled back to 2.54 and everything is working fine again.

I cannot find anyway to get to the connection, logs if there are any,to see what part of the connection is failing…

  11. I have a Telnet window open for an HP 2610-24-PwR switch and I can't change the windows height to be more than 24 lines. Any ideas where I should look in the config. options or what I should do differently?
    Thanks for a great program.

Pleased try Profile, options, advanced, force size. Unfortunately hosts using Telnet may not negotiate window size. Let us know if this option works. If the host supports ssh then connect using ssh.

  12. I'm using dual monitors and the "overwrite file?" scp dialogue is going off screen if the scp window is on my second monitor.

Sure, I can press "enter" but it's a bit annoying :-) Could you fix the window placement code a bit?

  13. Sometimes it happens that, by clicking with right mouse button on a terminal window, typically to do some copy&paste action, the Disconnect menu option is unadvertently clicked and the window flies away... with the whole session done til that moment. It would be nice to have a disconnect confirmation dialog, avoiding this annoyance (just try to happen during a vi session...). Or even a different right-click menu items positioning, setting the Disconnect at the top, thus making the issue very hard to happen.

  14. Please could we have the option to add a "side bar" showing the connection profiles down the right side of the main window. A bit like showing the bookmarks in Firefox. This wil show which profiles are connected and allow you to fire up a new one. Similar to MS's Remote Desktop Connection Manager, but for SSH obviously.

  15. I got a server application that prints log output in different colors depending on the type (error -> red, warning -> yellow, info -> white, debug -> grey, trace -> dark grey).

However PenguiNet displays the dark grey trace-messages transparent (same color as background). Changing the color scheme or selecting the text doesn't make it visible, but copying the text works fine.
    Putty displays the text correctly.

  17. One of the things we do right now is execute the same commands on many servers simultaneously. For instance to update all proprietary software or to verify configuration. It would be nice to be able to send any arbitrary command to all open windows ( anything from a simple ls, to the execution of a script file) so that I type 'ls -al' once, but see the output of that on all 16 open windows.

  18. Would really like windows to have the option of being transparent, much like the ubuntu terminals, especially when they are detached.

  19. Hi.

I would like to propose a new feature - Custom Notes for each profile.

This is very useful of storing passwords etc.

Coz I always forgot what is the password if someone else asked me since I already set the Penguinet to save password automatically.

    Thank you.

  20. Hi. Actually this problem have been recurring for a quite long time ago. The problem is that whenever I paste text that contains more than 6 lines, the session will hang and I have to close it and open the session again.

This does not happen when I paste text in vi mode. It happened when I paste text directly onto the terminal prompt.

I have tested the same situation with SecureCRT and it has no such problem.

Hope you guys could kindly fix this.

    Thank you.
