  1. Clone scp; drop into scp client into working directory.

It would be sweet if you could clone a scp session from a window and it would then drop you into your current directory. I know there's no easy way to do this cause your current directory isnt available to penguinet. If you guys ever figured that out it would be cool too if you could clone a terminal session and have it drop you into that sessions current directory. Penguinet is awesome! keep up the good work

    • ssh tunnel disconnect prevention

I'd like PenguiNet alert before closing an SSH session with tunneling, because quite often I forget having the tunnel up and I close an "inoperative" ssh window, thus inadvertently closing the tunnel.
A generic SSH window without active tunneling would then have no alert if closing it.

An interesting alternative would be to have PenguiNet to open tunnels without opening ssh window.

        Hello,

I would like to request an option that will be capable of hiding scrollbar.

        Thanks.

        • vt100 behavior

I am trying to insert a line within an existing screen. For example, position the cursor at line 12, col 0; insert a linefeed, moving row 12 and below down one line. Move the cursor back to line 12 and display new text. I have not been able to do this with Putty or Penguin. It works on a real Vt-100. Any ideas? Thanks

          • vi

Hi, version 2.53 (I ugpgraded this morning) appears to ignore the escape key in vi. I realise I can use Ctrl-C in this version, but have a preference for escape. Is escape likely to make a comback?

              Hi Gill,
Which older version are we comparing with here? What OS and version is running on your remote host? Does changing “Terminal type” on the “Login” tab in Connection Profiles fix this for you?

Frank, Thanks for the report. In connection profiles, under “Login”, what do you have “Terminal type” set to? Are you using SSH, Telnet or Serial? Which font are you using? What country are you in (more specifically, what country’s keyboard layout are you using)?

                • sudo and SCP

We need the ability to sudo to another user when performing secure copies.

                  • Change window height

I have a Telnet window open for an HP 2610-24-PwR switch and I can't change the windows height to be more than 24 lines. Any ideas where I should look in the config. options or what I should do differently?
                    Thanks for a great program.

Pleased try Profile, options, advanced, force size. Unfortunately hosts using Telnet may not negotiate window size. Let us know if this option works. If the host supports ssh then connect using ssh.

                    • characters on terminal are doubled up on Penguinet 2.54

                      can anyone comment on this???

                      it is strange!

James, which version are you using? Newer versions come with an option in Send Commands, “Hide text to be sent”, meaning you could use Send Commands for this without exposing a password.

                        • Windows DPI scaling

Penguinet does not look good in Windows DPI scaling. Everything looks blurry.

Microsoft's recommendation is to turn off the DPI scaling ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2900023 ) but in this case, the text is too tiny to be read because of the huge resolution (4k display).

4k displays becoming more and more common and ppls turn on DPI scaling, this is a must have feature.

                          • Credentials profile

It would be useful storing a credential profile (username/password) and recall it into a connection profile. In this way for the device with ldap authentication the user should change the password in one place only

I've been using Penguinet for what might be 10 years now. I love it. It's great. And whenever I use Putty I hate it.

                                BUT

When I log in to a server with public/private key pair, I have to do the following dance:

First, I enter my password for the key and get:

"You've chosen public key login but the server has been unable to authenticate you, would you like to attempt automatic authentication?"

I say NO. I then get:

"The connection to [server] has been closed because the remote host closed the connection normally"

                                I say RECONNECT. Penguinet then…

Is there a way to extract a password? We have a system that we can login to, but it wants the current password. Unfortunately we don't have it, but it's stored in penguinet. Save me the trouble of password recovery on an ISE server...

Penguinet supports UTF-8 within a terminal session, and if its required, a font of your choice.

We don’t actually have a server here configured for hebrew, so why not install the Penguinet trial, try it on an appropriate server, and report back here? :-)

                                      • path automatically entered as command

When open sessionwith PenguiNet, the path is automatically entered as a command (whenever hit enter); this does not occur with standalone putty session. Is there a PenguiNet option to prevent this? WIthout a way to turn this off, PenguiNet is too annoying to use.

                                        • Windows: on text Zoom, do not resize the session windows

on Windows, the session window gets resized when I change the text zoom.
This is not an expected behavior, It shouldn't be resized.
